1966 Hot Wheels Batmobile
Hello and welcome to Gotham Diecast. Your pit stop for information, videos and great deals on the 1966 Hot Wheels Batmobile. Part of the fun watching the Batman TV Show in the 1960s was watching all the things the Batmobile could do. The way it used to speed out of the Batcave mesmerized kids watching the show. They would then dream about having their own Batmobile. I know I did.
From the first time the 1966 Batmobile appeared in the Batman TV Show the fans let ABC know how much they loved the car. That carried on in 1973 when Adam West did a tour featuring the 1966 Batmobile. The love for the Batmobile is still strong today as evident from the licensing agreement by Mattel to make the Hot Wheels Batmobile.
Holy Dream Come True!
Hot Wheels has been allowed to create detailed diecast replicas of the 1966 Batmobile and this is great news for fans of the TV show and the Batmobile. This launch of the Hot Wheels Batmobile commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Batman television series and reintroduces one of television's most recognized vehicles to an entirely new generation of Batman fans and collectors alike.
It has been decades since Batman and Robin last sped out of the Batcave in the famous 1966 Batmobile. How much better can you mark the show’s 40th anniversary than with the release of the Hot Wheels Batmobile.
This diecast model has been at the top of every collector’s wish list. As Mattel VP Geoff Walker stated; "This is the car that every collector has been asking for." Considering its history, that should come as no surprise.
State of the Art Reproduction
The best technology has been used to recreate the 1966 batmobile in all its glory. The Hot Wheels team took exact measurements from the original Batmobile and also scanned the vehicle in order to be able to work on the design digitally. The team took the 3D images of the 1966 Batmobile that were created and used it to cut the diecast models’ tooling as to ensure the greatest detail and accuracy.
Versions to Collect
Mattel’s first diecast 1966 Hot Wheels Batmobile was the 1:64 scale model which belongs to the basic Hot Wheels car lineup. A 1:43 scale was also introduced and then the 1:18 which is just incredible and comes in three choices of detail and finish. There's the Standard, Elite and Super Elite.
