batman show batmobile
vlyplyr asked:

Out of all the movies, comics, and TV shows, who does the best Batman?

My vote is for Christian Bale. He's totally cool and totally HOT. The WB cartoon show's Batman is cool too--you know, the one with Mark Hamill as the Joker (best Joker ever)

Not to mention that the Batmobile in Bale's movie is the coolest car EVER. I want the new Batmobile!!!!!!
OKAY, I meant Kevin Conroy.

Sorr-eeeeee

I didn't know

  1. I so agree – Christian was the best. Love this Batmobile loads, too! Very impressed with the return to the original premise of The Dark Knight. Looking forward to more!

  5. “The WB cartoon show’s Batman is cool too”

You mean Kevin Conroy. Batman cartoons starring Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill have been on the air long before there ever was a WB. :) Kevin Conroy is my favorite Batman. If I must pick a “live action” Batman, I suppose it would be Michael Keaton.

Having grown up on the comics, I can pretty much say that most of the movies haven’t been very satisfying for me, because I dislike when things stray to far from cannon. I couldn’t make it through Batman Begins, even if I’ve been in love with Bale since he did “Little Women.” ;) Besides–animation is best for Batman, since its nearly impossible for someone who hasn’t trained in martial arts for years and years to physically move the way Bats should.

Then again, Adam West will always have a place in my heart!

  6. Christian Bale is the closest to capturing, or at least staying true to the way Batman is supposed to be written.

Mike Keaton was HORRIBLY miscast for that role, as were Val and George. Tim Burton himself once said that he has NEVER read a comic book… which to me explains why Batman with Mike Keaton was SO HORRENDOUS!

Kevin Conroy would be my next choice just because his voice is the best for Batman the Animated Series (the emmy award winning one and NOT that stupid Kids WB version), Batman Beyond and the uber-Awesome Justice League Unlimited.

  9. Best live actor – Christian Bale.

He had the suave look and charisma of Bruce Wayne and the tormented persona of the Dark Knight. He perfectly embodied the two characters with no problem. He brought back Batman to his dark and obsessive roots. You could not ask for a better actor than Bale to portray Batman onscreen.

    Best cartoon – Kevin Conroy
This guy IS Batman. Since he started in 1992, he’s wowed millions of people with his portayal of Batman. His voice alone sent chills down criminal’s spines. Conroy’s voice is the one I hear when I read a comic book. He is the best and only choice for the comic Batman or animated series.

  10. older ppl would say Adam West

but i think Michael Keaton is the best cuz he played batman as we know him

Christian Bale was amazing too but u cant compare him with Michael Keaton cuz he played a younger batman so we’ll have to and see how he does in the sequels.

  11. I’ve gotta echo a previous answer. Christian Bale because he’s got the character of Batman down and he’s soooo fun to watch! :)

But Kevin Conroy of the cartoons has to have the best attitude as Batman. My kids have Justice League, Batman and Batman/Superman crossover cartoons on DVD and I just loooove Conroy’s voice and inflections for Batman. He makes him soooo dark and soooo cool.

  12. Well, this is not a hard question to answer – Christian Bale. I think he played Batman really well. He was atleast tall enough, unlike Michael Keaton. Christian Bale is an all around good actor so I think it was the right choice to pick him as the new Batman. It is nice to step away from that Joel Schumacher travesty they made in the 90s.

But seriously, if I had to go from my favorite Batmans to my not so favorite Batmans, it would go like this:

    Christian Bale
    Michael Keaton
    Val Kilmer
    George Clooney

  16. The most suitable actor for Batman in the movies was, in my opinion, Michael Keaton. Christian Bale simply sucks as Batman. For a man who has seen so much tragedy, he’s not even cold or cool enough. He’s just emotionless. And there’s no chemistry between him and Katie Holmes. I notice that most people like Christian simply because he’s hot and cute. Yeah, but if you read the comics or the old WB tv series of Batman, Batman is not necessarily someone who keeps showing his buff body.

Nope, I just didn’t like Christian Bale as Batman. I like his other films though and I know he’s a very good actor as he’s very intense. But as Batman, he just didn’t have the characters. Michael Keaton, respectfully, was the best Batman in the movies and which is why I believe, is one of the reasons why the first few movies of Batman were so much better than the current ones.

  17. Best Batman- Micheal Keaton
    Best Bruce Wayne- Christian Bale
    Best comedic take- Adam West
    Best overall- Kevin Conroy

Conroy embodies the whole dual persona with the ease of the change of his voice. The way the animatde series was drawn, written, and directed, you could not ask for a better Batman star or story. Keaton had a great stare and moved pretty well considering the suit didn’t have a movable neck piece. Bale tried to hard to change his voice, it took all my effort not to laugh when he made his “constipated” speech to Rachel Dawes. West, probably the best remembered version, had to deal with 1. the campyness of the show 2. it couldn’t be to violent because of the kids of that genoration (although the cowboys and indians did kill each other) 3. He was in terrible shape!!

  18. I know many people said “Michael Keaton” but they gave no reason why. I believe Michael Keaton was the best Batman but only because of director Tim Burton’s creation of a dark Gotham City in such a dark movie. People don’t seem to realize that all the other superheros (Superman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, etc.) were fueled by a sense of justice. To right the wrongs and to correct evils.

After his parents were murdered, Batman didn’t want justice. He wanted REVENGE. THAT’S what fueled his declaration of war against crime. I believe Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Batman reflected that. Of course, as I said, he had help from director Tim Burton. The whole storyline of Batman is SUPPOSED to be dark. It’s SUPPOSED to be disturbing and based on exacting revenge for what happened to his parents.

So when you ask, “Who’s the best Batman?”, people can take that to mean many things (as you said, the “cool” Batman as opposed to Adam West’s “Batman in tights”). But as for me, for the man who runs on vengeance, Michael Keaton portrayed Batman the best.

  19. I would have to go with Kevin Conroy from Batman the Animated Series. Sub Zero and Mask of the Phantasm were truly high points in the entire Batman mythos

Val Kilmer did not do a bad job under the cowl, no one could have done much with such a stupid script as well as overacting on Carrey’s part and a misunderstanding of Two Face by Tommy Lee Jones.

Keaton did better than I thought was possible for him. I also give respect for the campy Adam West who introduced Batman to a new generation that would redeam Batman.

Christian Bale has given the best live action performance, but I’ll wait for the second movie.

Batmobile from the TV show best ever.
